I am renovating my home. At what stage do I need to talk to you about a system for my house?
As soon as possible! We simply cannot count the amount of times we've had our customers ask us to become involved in their projects only to find that they are so far through their renovations that we are no longer able to offer the best solution. Ideally, we consult with our customers, agree on a system solution and undertake the pre-cable process prior to any gib board/wall linings or insulation being installed.
I am building a new home and have several requirements. At what stage do we need to talk?
As soon as you have your building plans finalised! Give us a call and come into our showroom for a coffee and chat. At this stage we can discuss your requirements, give you some ideas and let you know about any new technology that may affect your decision on the best system solution for you. We can show you a range of systems in our showroom and explain how these can be integrated into your home.
Can I install a Plasma screen above a fireplace?
Yes and No! We have installed many flat panel TVs above various types of fireplaces. Typically we build recess boxes to allow the Plasma/LCD TV to be recessed into the wall above the fire. This can only be done with some models due to the total thickness of Plasma/LCD and their matching wall mounting brackets. There are also regulations to adhere to in terms of the required distance from the top of the fire to the base of the TV recess. When a recess is involved, some Plasma and LCD TV's require a considerably large gap between the panel and the recess surround to allow for adequate venting for heat generated by the flat panel TV. Therefore there are only a few models we recommend for above a fire in a recess box.
We would strongly suggest calling us before purchasing a flat panel TV if you are considering installing it above a fire. |
