LCD or Plasma? What should I buy?
There is no doubt that when it comes to big screen flat panel performance (37" and above), the best plasmas are beating their LCD rivals hands down. There is also a vast difference in performance among the many plasma TVs available in the NZ market.
What sort of Hi Fi or Home Entertainment system should I buy for my home?
There are several factors that you need to consider:
1. Hi Fi or Home Theatre? Typically a home theatre system involves a minimum of 5 speakers and a separate sub woofer. A stereo system (often referred to as Hi Fi or 2 channel) has only two speakers. Both of these systems offer many choices in terms of components, speaker type and options as to how they will integrate into your home.
2. Where will this equipment be installed? Is the environment harsh? For example: tall ceilings and hard floors such as concrete, wood or tile. How big is the room? Typically large retail shops and chain stores sell you a system they want to sell you. It is very rare to hear a salesperson ask "what is the installation environment?" This does make a difference.
3. What do you want to "see" in your home? Small speakers or big speakers? In ceiling or in-wall speakers? How easy will it be to operate?
We can show you all your options in our retail showroom. We will consult with you on the installation environment and understand exactly what you want to achieve. We then custom design a system for you and your home environment. That way you get the best possible result for your budget.
